Lamersdorf old brick courtyard complex 1972

At the time of the French occupation can already be seen on the „Plan Geometrique de la Mairie de Lamersdorf“ of 02.11.1793 a three- wing brick countryard. The present residential house will have been built around 1820. It is declared a historic monument. From about 1840 to 1860 Wilhelm Bartz and from 1860 to 1880 his son Cornelius Bartz owned the farm. Around 1900, Cornelius‘ half-brother Franz Josef Hubert Bartz and his wife Elisabeth, née Dohmen, owned the farm.

In 1911, Joachim Jansen, who had run a carpenter’s workshop in Eschweiler since 1870, bought the farm and transferred it to his son Gottfried in 1914. Master joiner Gottfried Jansen continues to run a joinery and marquee hire business on the farm.

To improve the mobility of the transport trailers, the existing barn on the farm is demolished and a second gate is built. The marquee is confiscated during the Second World War and destroyed in the chaos of war in Aachen.

From 1946 to 1958 Gottfried Jansen also serves as mayor for several years during what is probably the most difficult period in Lamersdorf.

In 1957, his son, master carpenter Josef Jansen, took over the business, which he continued until 1986.

Since 1992, Peter and Rosemarie Jansen have lived on the farm.
