Location: Old school – Old town hall

This building, built in 1913 as a primary school, replaced the first school building, which had been built opposite the church in 1840 (now Hochstraße 37).

After the war, the municipality bought the ruins of the former „Hof“ between the church and this building.
In August 1951, the new and third school building in Lucherberg was inaugurated there.

In June 1950, the newly constructed building became the town hall of the Lucherberg district, with a flat for the district director on the upper floor. Until then, the municipal and district administration had been housed in the house of the former mayor Kratz (now Hochstraße 37a).
A washing and shower facility was set up for the population in the basement of the town hall. The communal laundry was shut down at the end of 1961. The sale of the washing machines generated proceeds of DM 1.716.
From 1972, the building served as one of the two town halls of the new municipality of Inden, which was founded that year. Due to the resettlement of Inden as a result of mining, and thus the demolition of the town hall there, a new town hall was built in the new resettlement location of Inden/Altdorf in 1993.
The Lucherberg town hall was freed up for a new purpose: the ground floor and basement are used by the community youth centre ‘Quo Vadis’ – a meeting place for children and young people in the community of Inden.
Since 1993, the upper and attic floors have been home to the ‘Local History Museum’ with archive and work rooms of the Inden Community History Association.
